The Everton fanbase is still reeling from the club’s controversial 10 points deduction handed out by the Premier League last month, but the players on the pitch aren’t letting it distract them. A single-goal win over Nottm Forest last weekend wasn’t flashy but it was a solid performance overall and lifted them to 18th place just two points from reclaiming their previous position of safety. The visit of Newcastle will be a tough test, but this Everton side looks full of grit and determination and could cause a stretched Newcastle squad serious problems.

Newcastle would ordinarily come bouncing into a fixture like this after such an impressive victory against Man Utd in the last gameweek, but the mood was soured by yet another injury. This time it was goalkeeper Nick Pope who was forced off, and the England international is now expected to miss up to five months of action. He’s the latest addition in a long line of injuries that have plagued Newcastle all season. The side now has more than a dozen first-team players on the sideline, and the remaining players are starting to show the strain of being forced to play multiple games a week without the luxury of rotating.

Everton may be facing Newcastle at the perfect time as it’s likely Eddie Howe will be unable to change his starting XI for this game, and several players are showing signs of burnout. To see if the home side can capitalize you’ll need to watch an Everton vs Newcastle live stream.

Everton's striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is facing uncertainty due to a calf problem, and a decision on his availability will be made closer to kickoff. However, Amadou Onana, Andre Gomes and Dele Alli continue their rehabilitation.

Seamus Coleman, after spending seven months recovering from a knee injury, has been an unused substitute in Everton's last two games. He is now in contention for a start at right-back

Newcastle are facing a significant blow with Nick Pope's shoulder dislocation, ruling him out for four to five months. As a result, Martin Dubravka is set to be the regular goalkeeper until the January transfer window.

The injury list for Newcastle includes Sven Botman, Jacob Murphy, Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff, Callum Wilson, Matt Targett, Elliot Anderson, Dan Burn, Harvey Barnes, and Javi Manquillo.

Magpies boss Eddie Howe was forced to name the same starting XI for the third successive game in last Saturday's 1-0 victory over Manchester United due to a lack of options, but the result was overshadowed by goalkeeper Nick Pope dislocating his shoulder to become the 12th player put out of action.

That means Howe will make at least one change against Everton as Martin Dúbravka will replace Pope between the sticks, while he could be forced into a second as former Toffees winger Anthony Gordon is a doubt after limping off with a hip injury in the closing stages of last weekend's success.

Everton also enjoyed a successful Saturday evening as Dwight McNeil's cracking goal against Nottingham Forest earned a 1-0 win at the City Ground to cut the gap to safety to just two points.

The Toffees' brilliant form on the road is in stark contrast to their poor home record, as they have just picked up four points from seven games at Goodison Park - and Sean Dyche will need that to improve if they are to successfully defy their 10-point deduction.

While Everton's legal team look to overturn their 10-point deduction for financial rule breaches, the punishment means the Toffees remain in the bottom three despite a crucial away win on Sunday.

They now face a Newcastle side buoyed by their impressive 1-0 win over Manchester United. Magpies boss Eddie Howe will be mindful that his side have only won one of their last eight games away from home, but will be encouraged by the fact that their hosts have won just once at Goodison Park in the EPL so far this season.

Eddie Howe’s side remain ravaged by injury but have still managed to register impressive wins against Chelsea and Manchester United in recent weeks.

An away win against Everton will help maintain pressure on the top four and the Magpies will be hoping to continue their impressive recent record against the Merseyside club which has seen them lose only once in their last five games.

Sean Dyche’s side, however, have only lost one of their last five league games and bounced back impressively from their defeat to Manchester United with an important 1-0 away win against Nottingham Forest.

Everton will be hoping to welcome back Dominic Calvert-Lewin after he missed out on the weekend’s game against Nottingham Forest with a calf injury. The striker has returned to training and could be chucked straight back into the starting XI. Amadou Onana, Dele Ali and Andre Gomes remain unavailable.

Newcastle, meanwhile, saw their lengthy injury list only increase last weekend, with the club confirming that Nick Pope will have to undergo shoulder surgery and will likely miss four months of action. Anthony Gordon is also a doubt after the winger was substituted following his winner against Manchester United. 12 other players remain unavailable for Howe.
